EUROPE IN THE FUTURE

To join the EU must follow a procedure. 

-market economy -stable democracy-the rule of law -acceptance of all EU legislation, including on the euro

To Solicit the adhesion, you must respect, freedom, democracy, respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and rule of law.

CONDITIONS TO BE A MEMBER:

NEW ADHESIONS:

Member states (27)Candidates: Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Iceland, Croatia.

Potential Candidates: Albania, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Possible Candidates: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Belarus, Switzerland, Norway.

Replaces the Constitution for Europe after the failed constitutional treaty of 2004

EU has legal personality to sign international agreements at Community level.

Essentially the same treaty that was rejected by France and Holland in 2004, the European Constitution.

The euro is the offi cial currency of the euro zone: 17 of the 27 member states of the European Union.

The European Constitution defines the values , objectives and keypowers of the European Union and organized institutional structure the same.

The European Constituon was failed, because not all the countries ant it.

The crisis of Greece begin when the USA crisis started.

The countries of the EU, like Germany and France, couldn’t agree on how to rescue Greece.

The euro starts to lose credibility and value in the stock exchange.

The European sovereign debt crisis is an ongoing financial crisis that has made it diffi cult or impossible for some countries in the euro area to re-finance their government debt without the assistance of third parties.

Some of the European countries were rescued by the EU.

SARKOZY SPEECH ABOUT SCHENGEN

French President Nicolas Sarkozy says if he is re-elected, France could leave Europe’s border-free Schengen agreement if Europe doesn’t decide on a political government to lead Schengen within one year.
