What is a verb?

A verb is an action word, in Spanish verbs are learned in the INFINITIVE form. Example: HABLAR = to speak.

These infinitives end in AR. ER, AND IR. Ar being the most common.

TO SHOW WHO IS DOING THE ACTION OF THE VERB……..

EXAMPLE: I speak is formed by removing the “AR ending from HABLAR and replacing it with an “O” to make

“HABLO” = I speak.The pronoun “YO” = “I” and is used for

emphasis only. You may say “Yo hablo”, but the “YO” isn’t necessary

as it is included in the “O” of hablo.
