Velociraptors were living in Cretaceous Period. Velociraptor mean “Speedy Thief” because it’s a very smart and very fast dinosaur. It’s about 1 meter high and 2 meters long, it weight about 8 to 20 kilograms.

30 very sharp, curved teeth in a long, flat snout, an s-shaped neck.

Long thin legs. Arms with three-

fingered clawed hands and four-toed clawed feet.

The Velociraptor was mostly found in the wood land of Asia, Mongolia, and China about 85 million years ago.

Velociraptor FoodThe Velociraptor is a

Carnivore- animals that only eat meat. The opposite is Herbivore- animals that only eat grass and vegetable. To kill it’s prey, it had very sharp teeth, it was very fast (over 40km/h), and it needed to be very smart.

This dinosaur extinct because of a meteorite crashed on earth about 65 million years ago. The ash of the meteorite killed all the plants so the herbivores died because they had nothing to eat and if the herbivores died, carnivores had nothing to eat.

This species didn’t have any impact on earth when it extinct because all the species die during the cretaceous extinction.

When this dinosaur die, like almost all the dinosaur, it left fossils of its bones.

The dromaeosaurid is a dinosaur from the same family as the Velociraptor. It’s about 1.8m long and it’s related to birds.
