Veefil 50kW fast charger:
The slimline, lightweight Veefil makes electric vehicle fast charging convenient for
customers, clients and the public. Its design increases site location options and
reduces the cost to install. Veefil’s unique liquid cooling systems allows for a more
reliable product and reduced service and maintenance cost.
Award winning design
Awarded for its design, innovation and sustainability the Veefil design team have
produced a product to perform in high usage and extreme environments. The
Veefil and its parts have been designed and built for its specific requirements of
fast charging and not assembled from existing products.

Liquid Cooling
The Tritium unique liquid cooling system allows
greater performance and better durability.
Sealed electronics enclosure
Reduced operating temperature
Increased lifetime
Reduced maintenance
Patented cooling system
The liquid cooling system inspired by the
automotive industry:
Automotive glycol coolant pumped around vital charger infrastructure
Liquid cooling operates only once charging commences
50,000 hours MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) equivalent to 20 years
lifetime
Spal automotive high grade fan installed
Outdoor Enclosure
The Veefil’s IP65 outdoor rated enclosure provides the maximum protection form
the environment. It is made up of two secure covers. The internal aluminium shell
provides superior protection to the electronics and adds a strong skeleton to the
charger. The inner cover is fitted
with a Durable UV resistant
polycarbonate shell. The outer cover
adds aesthetic and the opportunity
to design your own unique charger.

Connect, Swipe and Start
Description of how to use:
1. Connect Plug to Car - Icon flashes when the unit is available for use.
2. Card Activation - Swipe your card over this area to activate the user
interface, and to also unlock a charging session.
3. MAX or HALF - Toggle button to select a half or maximum charge
amount. (if not pressed goes directly to maximum)
4. START - Push to start the charging session.
5. STOP - Push to stop the charging session.
6. Return Plug to Charger -Icon flashes to indicate that the charging
session is complete and the plug should be returned to the plug holder.
7. Not in Service - Icon will light up when the charger is not in service.
8. Locked symbol - Lit when a charging session is in progress and the
interface panel is locked.
9. Charging indicator - Will glow when a charging session is in progress.
10. LED information displays - Displays minutes, battery percentage
during charge, kilowatts delivered, $ fee charged.
Branding Veefil:
With a flexibility of choosing different colours, to better adapt the customer image,
and an unlimited opportunity of creating the front and back vinyl, Tritium has not
only a significant area for branding, but that can be used also for publicity as both
areas are illuminated during night time, keeping the high visibility over such
branding.

Charger Communications and Operation
OCCP Integration
The Veefil is Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) supported both on OCPP 1.5 and
1.6, allowing simple integration to your chosen customer management software.
We have successfully integrated to various platforms around the world. The Veefil
engineering team can facilitate this proccess.
Veefil Portal
The Veefil Portal is an online information & control platform that gives owner
operators vital real time information on the status and performance of the
charging station. The control platform allow for remote support, maintenance and
firmware updates.
Real-time performance data
Online diagnostics and control
Remote enable and disable function
Apply your own skin
Remote error identification and reset
Communication Mechanisms
The Veefil has 2 communication mechanisms built in that are available:
1. 3G (WCDMA 800/850/1900/2100 MHz or GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz)
2. Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000 mbps)
The most common and convenient communication used in Veefil deployments is
over 3G, however we also provide gigabit Ethernet for challenging locations where
no 3G coverage is available.
Firmware updates
All firmware updates can be done remotely via the communications connection or
on-site by a technician, via the Veefil Portal.
Operation and Maintenance
The world cheapest ownership DC charger, with no mandatory yearly maintenance
activity. No scheduled maintenance is required on the Veefil, being fully able to
be monitored and diagnosed from base. Vandalism and misuse are the most likely
cause for service call outs. Tritium recommends the following operations activities
to be performed by unskilled staff convenient to the host site.
Regular cleaning around the unit to avoid accumulation of debris
Wipe surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with water, or use alcohol based
cleaner for harder to remove marks.
Visual check to see connectors are in good order
DC Charger Options
Power limiting
The Veefil output is programmable to be limited to the charger to the available
grid connection power. The limiting can be done as a default setting or changed
via the online management tool.
DC Power Input
The Veefil is able to be powered by a direct DC power
source. It can accept power from a solar PV array,
batteries or other power generators. Input power
range needed is 600-900V, with minimum 90A
available
AC Pack Option
In order to maximise the vehicle models the Veefil can charge, we provide our
customers with an AC Pack add on option. This solution is only recommended for
locations with only 1 parking spot. Locations with 2 it is recommended a DC only
+ AC separated charger, as charging profiles are significantly different as explain
below.
The AC option is installed at the back of the Veefil in the add-on pack. The AC
pack can be with fixed cable Type-2 (43kW or 22kW), or with a Type-2 socket (up
to 22kW).
It is an additional option to have AC and DC charging work simultaneously.
This Veefil Triple with AC, was created to support exclusively the European market,
as this configurations is only requested in Europe, the rest of the world demand is
DC only. But in 2015 we have seen a change on the European customer and
tenders demand, being this solution less and less used towards the alternative DC
50kW Dual Chargers + AC 22kW Chargers. That support Tritium vision of the
optimum configuration for a EV charging locations, having the right
power/equipment’s for the different types of charging.
DC 50kW charging provide a 0 to 80-90% in less than 30 minutes.
AC charging is limited but AC/DC Inverter on-board of the vehicles, so even
that you have a 22kW AC charger, if the vehicles just have 7,4kW Inverters
the maximum power able to be provide to charger is limited but the EV
Inverter so 7,4kW. So standard charging time in AC is between 3 to 8 hours,
with 2 exception Renault Zoe (~1h) and BYD (~1 h).
Note: both Nissan and BMW use Inverters with maximum power 7,4kW
(~charging time in AC 3-4 hours), just Renault and BYD use Inverters of 22kW.
The recommended configuration is present here below considered to be the
Optimum Solution, DC 50kW fast charger + AC22kW.
Tritium can provide prices for the AC charger from a partner.
