VAI BIJA VĒRTS?A contest for secondary class students

The aim of the event:

•To promote the interest of students in nature sciences, information technologies, mathematics based on practical activities connected with real life needs.

The objectives:•To improve knowledge about modern information technologies, their advantages and drawbacks, their impact on environment and safe usage;

•To stress the importance of education;

•To improve communication skills of students.

Participants:•5 people teams from:

•Ropaži Secondary School, classes 9, 10, 11, 12;

•Zaķumuiža Elementary School class 9;

•Aizupes Elementary School (Jelgava municipality);

•Riga State Gymnasium No.1 , class 10;

•Riga State Gymnasium No.3, class 10.

The jury and the providers of tasks:

•The managers of Uzdevumi.lv V.Nikitins, E.Škutāns, A.Usāns, E.Tukiša;

•Manager of the Client Service Department of Swedbank, the previous teacher of economics at Ropaži – M.Drusts;

•RAIT LATVIA representative S.Daume;•Teacher of economics I.Grigorjevs;•Eko school leader S.Kantāne;•Erasmus+ coordinator B.Lukaševiča.

Each team has to present a home task: «Only One World, Don’t Waste It» – how modern technologies help to save the environment, how they save energy.
