100 Days of School
8th Grade Project—Give Kids the World Our 8th graders chose Give Kids the World as their 8th grade Charity Project. Give Kids The World Village is a 79-acre, nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides weeklong, cost-free vacations to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. Our 8th grade met at MA-GO at 6am to board a
bus to take them there so they could work the “breakfast shift”. They served and interacted with the chil-dren and their families and it was a very emotional and valuable expe-rience.
as making crowns, Cheer-
io necklaces, odds and
evens coloring pages, 100
shaped glasses, counting
100 pennies to make a
dollar (as pictured on left),
100 shaped cookies and
even a pizza party.
Our 100 days of
school was on
Thursday, Febru-
ary 4th and many
classes had special
crafts to com-
memorate the
day. Crafts such
The students enjoyed a
pleasant but bittersweet
time realizing only 80
days were left of fun with
their friends.
Yet another valuable cause
that MAGO was working
on this month that benefits
children with cancer. We
had bake sales, hat day, dif-
ferent color hijab day to
raise money and we made
around $5000 .
Stay tuned next month to
see how we did nationally
and to see which classes
made the most money!

As you know, at MAGO our mis-sion is to develop educated, ethical-ly and morally upright students who, InshaAllah, will be a positive contributor to his/her community. Thus last year we introduced "Adopt-a-Highway." The Depart-ment of Transportation has ap-proved a portion of 535 (approximately 2.5 miles) for MAGO.
Now, it is time for us to give back to the community and showcase the quality of our students and
parents, by caring about our community and cleaning our surroundings. Also "Removing
harmful things from the road is an act of charity (sadaqah)." Narrated by Abu Dharr Al-
Ghafari.
Trash Trash Everywhere
Trash, Trash everywhere
People don't seem to care
plastic, paper and cigarette butts
you name it, I found it, it's lots.
Trash, trash everywhere
people don't seem to care
i picked, i picked and I picked
and finally we were done, I tripped.
Trash, trash NOT everywhere
i cleaned it ... I care
Come join me next time
it's a good deed.. does not cost a dime.

Build your

their Today.
Our yearly event is getting
better and better and
more popular every
year—MashaAllah. All the
students, teachers and
parent volunteers worked
hard for this event to be a
great success!!!!
I hope everyone enjoyed
“traveling” around the
world at MAGO learning
about other cultures and
enjoying delicious food at
the same time.

Sr. Shakira’s parent volun-

Barbora for the awesome
collages!
