CHARGING THE HEADSET

Connectchargercordintotheheadset’scharg-ingport.TheMFB’sindicatorlightmayturnblueforseveralsecondswhiletheheadsetdeterminesthelevelofchargethebatteryisholding.Do not removetheheadsetfromthecharger.Iftheheadsetisnotfullycharged,theindicator will turn RED within a short period (lessthan3minutes).Whentheindicatorturns blue—and staysblue—theunitisfullycharged.Itcouldtakeapproximately2.5hourstoachieveacompletecharge.

ON / STANDBY / OFF

Turn Headset On:HolddowntheMFBforapproximately2-3secondsuntilyouhearavoiceprompt,“Poweron.”Thebluelightwillflashtwiceeverysecond.

Standby Mode:Oncetheheadsetisturnedon(aftertheinitialpairing),itwillattempttoconnecttothelastdevicethatitwaspairedwith,puttingitselfintostandbymode.(TheheadsetcanalsobeputintostandbymodewithaquickpressandreleaseoftheMFB).Thebluelightwillflashindi-catinganactiveBluetoothlink.Theheadsetwillgiveavoiceprompt,“Yourheadsetisconnected.”

Turn Headset Off (conservesbatterypower):HolddowntheMFBforapproximately3-4secondsuntilyouhearavoiceprompt,“Poweroff.”Aredlightwillflash4timesandtheheadsetwillturnoff.

PAIRING WITH A PHONE

Keepheadsetandphonenolessthan3inchesandnomorethan3feetapartwhilepairing.KeepotherBluetoothdevicesatleast50feetaway,orturnthemoff.NOTE: The headset can be paired with up to 8 different devices but can only be connected to one at a time. It can only switch back and forth between 2 devices in Multipoint Mode.

1. Turnheadsetoff(page10).

2. PresstheMFBuntilthelightrapidlyflashesblueandyouheartheaudioprompt“PowerOn”andkeepholdinguntilyouhear“Discovering.”IMPORTANT: Wait for all audio prompts and the blue, rapidly flashing light. This may take up to 8–10 seconds. ReleasetheMFB.

3. PutyourcellularphoneintoBluetoothSearch/ScanModeperthemanufacturer’sinstructions.

4. Waitwhilethedevicesdiscovereachother:Thiscouldtakeupto2minutes.Oncethephonediscoverstheheadset,select“Pair”andenterapasscodeof“0000”ifinstructed.Oncepair-ingiscompletetheheadset’srapidbluelightwillstopflashingandthephonewillpromptyouto‘connect’totheheadset.Enter“Yes”onthephonetoconnecttotheheadset. When connected, you’ll hear the voice prompt, “Your headset is connected,” and the blue light will flash slowly (once every 3-4 seconds), indicating that the head-set is in Standby Mode and ready to make or receive calls.

PAIRING WITH A COMPUTER

Keepheadsetandcomputernolessthan3inchesandnomorethan3feetapartwhilepairing.KeepallotherBluetoothdevicesatleast50feetaway,orturnthemoff.

1. Turnheadsetoff(page10).

2. Openthecomputer’sBluetoothconnectionmanager.

3. Putheadsetintopairingmode(page11).

4. InstructBluetoothconnectionmanagerapplicationtodiscoverBluetoothdevice. Enterpasscode“0000”whenprompted.

5. Waitwhilethedevicesdiscovereachother.Thiscouldtakeupto2minutes.Oncepaired,theheadset’sbluelightwillflash.

6. Afterpairingiscomplete,aheadseticonwillappearinthecomputer’sBluetoothconnectionman-agerwindow.Toconnecttheheadset,usethemousetorightclickontheheadseticonandselect“connect.”Onceconnectedyoushouldhearthevoiceprompt,“Yourheadsetisconnected.”

7. Todisconnect,usethemousetorightclickontheheadseticonandselect“disconnect”orpowerofftheheadset.Ifyouselect“disconnect”youshouldhearthevoiceprompt,“Yourheadsetisdisconnected.”

MULTIPLE DEVICE PAIRING

TheBlueParrottXpresscanpairwithupto8devicesatthesametime;however,onlyonedevicemaybeconnectedtotheheadsetatatime,unless the headset is in Multipoint Mode(seepage14).TopairtheheadsetwithaBluetoothcellphoneorotherBluetoothdevice,suchasaBluetoothenabledcomputer,followtheinstructionsonpages11and12ofthismanual.Rememberthatalldevicesexceptfortheonesbeingpairedmusteitherbepoweredofforatleast50feetawaydur-ingthepairingprocess.

Oncealldevicesarepaired,connectiontothelastpaireddevicecanbemadebyturningtheheadsetoffandthenonagain,orwithaquickpressoftheMFB.Theheadsetwillconnecttothedevicesinreverseorderofpairing.Forinstance,ifdeviceA,BandCwerepairedinthatorder,connectionwillbeestablishedtoCfirst.IfCisnotavailable(turnedoff,outofrange),theheadsetwillconnecttoB,etc.

MULTIPOINT MODE

MultipointModeallowsyoutopairandswitchbetweentwoBluetoothdevices.

ENABLINGMULTIPOINTMODE

1. Turntheheadseton(seepage10).Itwilldisplayadouble-blinkingbluelightandyouwillhearavoiceprompt,“Poweron.”

2. WhilepressingtheMFBbutton,quicklypresstheVolumeUpandVolumeDownbuttonsatthesametime,andthenreleaseallbuttons.

3. Youwillhear4risingtones.

4. OnceMultipointModeisactive,shuttheheadsetoff.

PAIRINGtheBlueParrottXpressHEADSETtotheFIRSTBLUETOOTHDEVICE

5. GetthefirstBluetoothdevicereadytopairtotheheadset.

6. Puttheheadsetinpairingmode(seepage11).

7. OncethefirstBluetoothdeviceisconnected,shutoffthedeviceandtheheadset.

PROXIMITY PAIRING

ProximityPairingenablestheheadsettofindtheclosest“discoverable”phone.

1. Makesuretheheadsetispoweredon(seepage10).

2. HoldtheMFBdownandquicklypresstheVolumeDownbutton.

3. Youshouldhearthevoiceprompt“discovering”intheheadset.

4. Theheadsetlightswillrapidlyflashblue.

5. Theheadsetinitiatespairingactivity,andtheuserhastoaccepttheincomingpairing invitationonthephone.NOTE: This may include entering the pin number “0000” (four zeros).

MAKING A CALL

Ifyouhavenotpairedtheheadsetandphonetogetheryet,youmustdoso(page11).

1. Turnonyourcellphone.BesuretheBluetoothoptionisenabledonyourphone(refertoyourphone’suserguideforinstruction).

2. Putheadsetonandproperlypositionthemicrophone(page6).Toturnheadseton,pressMFBfor2-3seconds.Theheadsetwillautomaticallyattempttoconnectwiththelastdeviceitwaspairedorconnectedwith.Onceconnected,youshouldhearthevoiceprompt,“Yourheadsetisconnected.”

3. Dialthephoneandmakeacallasusual.Orusetheheadset’sVoiceDialfunction(page20)tomakeacall.

4. Toendcall,quicklypresstheMFBontheheadsetandrelease.Youwillhearavoiceprompt,“Callterminated.”ThecallwillendandtheheadsetwillenterStandbyMode.

ANSWERING A CALL

Inordertoansweracall,theheadsetmustbeinStandbyMode(page10).

1. Putheadseton.Positionthemicrophone(page6).

2. Whenyourcellphonerings,youwillhearringtonesintheheadset.Answerthecallbyquicklypressingtheheadset’sMFBandrelease.Youwillhear2risingtonesandtheMFBbuttonwillblinkblueeverysecond.

3. Toendthecall,quicklypresstheMFBontheheadsetandrelease.Youwillhearavoiceprompt,“Callterminated,”andtheheadsetwillenterStandbyMode.

OPERATION WHILE USING THE CHARGER / ADAPTER

TheXpressheadsetwilloperatefrombatterypowerorfromtheACorDCcharger/adapter.

NOTE: Do not attach the charger mid-call. This will cause the headset to reset, and the call will be sent back to the phone.

Whentheheadsetisoperatingfromthebattery,allindicatorlightsandsoundswillfunctionas describedinthisguide.

Whentheheadsetisoperatingfromthecharger/adapter,theheadset—includingtheaudioindica-tors—willfunctionasdescribedinthisuserguide.However,theMFBlightswillindicatethebatterychargestatus(seepage8).

Whiletheheadsetisonthecharger,pressandholdtheMFBlongenoughtopowertheuniton.Theheadsetshouldreconnectautomaticallyunlessyourphoneissetto“alwaysask”forconnectionrequests.

Afterthebatteryisfullycharged,theMFBchargelightwillturnandstayblue.Aslongasthe charger/adapterisconnectedtotheheadset,theindicatorlightwillremainblue.

LAST NUMBER REDIALTore-dialthelastnumberthatwasdialedfromthecellphone,pressandholdtheVolumeDown buttonforapproximately1second.Abeepwillbeheardandthephonewillredialthelastnumber.

REJECT A CALLTorejectanincomingcall,pressandholdtheMFBfor2seconds.Youwillhear2fallingtonesandtheincomingcallwillbetransferredtoyourvoicemail(ifavailable).

VOICE DIALTousetheVoiceDialfeatureofthecellphone,quicklypresstheMFBontheheadset.Atonewillbeheardandthephone’svoicedialershouldopen.Clearlyspeakthecommand.RepeatquickpressoftheMFBtoendVoiceDial.TheheadsetmustbeinStandbyModetousethisfeature.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

NOTE: Your cell phone must support the following functions (consult the phone owner’s manual).

TRANSFER AUDIO Totransferaudiofromtheheadsettothecellphonewhileonacall,pressandholdtheVolumeDownbuttonfor1-2seconds.Theaudiowilltransfertothephone;repeattotransferaudiobacktotheheadset.Whenaudioistransferredtothephone,thelightontheheadsetwillbeoffuntiltheaudioistransferredbacktotheheadset.

TURN HEADSET INDICATOR LIGHTS ON/OFF AquickpressofboththeVolumeUpandVolumeDownbuttonsatthesametimewillturntheheadsetindicatorlightsoff,repeattoturntheindicatorlightson.Whenpoweringontheheadset,theindicatorlightswillbeinthesamestateastheywerewhenlastpoweredoff.

AUTOMATIC BLUETOOTH CONNECTION Whentheheadsetispoweredon,itwillautomaticallyattempttoconnecttothelastdeviceitwaspairedwith.Iftheheadsetwaspairedwithmultipledevicesandthelastconnecteddeviceisnotavailable(turnedoff,outofrange,etc.),theheadsetwillattempttoconnecttothesecondtothelastdeviceitwasconnectedto,etc.Itisalsopossibletoreconnecttothedevicewithaquickpressoftheheadset’sMFB.Atoneandthevoiceprompt,“Yourheadsetisconnected,”willbeheardandthetwodevicesshouldconnect.

RESET PAIRED DEVICES LIST

Theheadsetmustbeontoperformthisfunction.

Toresettheheadset’sinternalpaireddeviceslist,holdtheheadsetnearyourear.PressandholdtheVolumeUpandtheVolumeDownbuttonssimultaneouslyforapproximately5-6secondsuntiltwolowtonesareheard.

Thisproceduremaybenecessaryiftheheadsetwillnotpairorconnecttoadevice.

NOTE: Pairing information for devices previously paired with the headset will be lost. Headset will need to be paired to the device after reset has occurred.

1. Toacceptanincomingcallwhiletalkingonanactivecall,presstheMFBbuttontwicetoputtheactivecallonhold.

2. Toswitchtotheoriginalcall,quicklypresstheMFBbuttononce.

NOTE: Depending on your phone’s programming, you may be able to switch between calls from the phone’s call handling menu.

3. Torejectanincomingcallwhileonanactivecall,pressandholdtheMFBbuttonfor2 seconds.Theincomingcallwillgotovoicemail,ifavailableandsupportedbyyourcellphone(page20).
