DESCRIPTION

The USAID-UNDP Asia Regional Civil Society Experience Summit was to be held in Bangkok, Thailand, between May 27 and 29, 2014 but cancelled at the last minute by the organisers on account of the recent political unrest in the country. In addition to attending, I was invited to do a 'Flash presentation' of five minutes around, "...providing inspiring examples of how ICTs can be used for reaching development goals, while highlighting the realities CSOs must face in light of increasing use of ICTs in their work and society, including digital safety/security and working towards a positive ICT enabling environment."

global & granular pulse Social media is ubiquitous

“The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story.” !

Chimamanda Adichie

The marginal, those at risk, violently erased, stifled, illiterate, victims, children, women, minorities and rural all have a voice to tell their stories.
