• April10–16:CoolerTemperaturesthanLastYearWillChallengeSeasonalDemandforMostinNorthAmerica.TheWestWillBetheWarmest.ExpectaStormyWeek.

Retailimplications:Temperatureswillbesignificantlybelowlastyear’s, which means a challenging week for warm weatherapparelcategories.
• Last year, this week was warmer than normal: ThewarmestconditionswerefocusedintheSouth.Rainfallwasabovenormal. Severeweatherwaswidespread,withover30tornadoesimpactingtheMidwest.
• Spring lost its way in the East: Early in the week,temperatureswillaveragewellbelowlastyearandnormal.Expect strong winds and periods of late-season snow forthe interior Northeast, New England and Great Lakesregions.Therewillbesomewarmingmidweek,followedbyanothercoolersurgelaterintheweek,withperiodsofrainandsnow.
• The West is getting warmer: Western regions will seeabove-normalwarmth,withtemperaturessettling intothe60s,70sand80s,alongwithadriertrend formuchoftheweek. Demand for barbeque grills, auto appearance, colddrinksandpatiosetscanbeexpected.

• Lastyear,thisweekwasthewarmestsince2012:Rainfallwas above normal, driven by the South, while a late-seasonsnowstormbroughtsnowtoUtahandColorado.
• April“blues”tocontinue:Thebluetemperatureshadingsreflect what retailers will be expecting. Demand forseasonal categories will remain weak. The week will bestormy,withPacificsystemstraversingwesttoeastacrossthecountry.SevereweatherepisodesarelikelyacrosstheMid-Southregion.
• The West remains the best: The best weather-drivenenvironment will be in the western states, which willremainwarmerthannormal.Stormsarepossibleearly intheweek,buttheweekwillenddrier.

• West-East split remains:Warm air will cover most of thecontinent to start the week. Another front will push in,drivingtemperaturesbelownormalintheWest.
