posted on my DP: dp.davincischools.org/staff/blarkin

Staple or tape them in if you are missing notes or cannot read your notes

Remember, this will be used for SLCs and POLs. I expect to see completed packets! (That means lectures AND videos)

calculator You must be able to square AND square root

numbers

Review Go through the packet We will work on problems #1-10 today There is paper on your table for scratch work,

but do not lose the papers, otherwise you won’t have them for study materials. Alternatively, you can write in a notebook.

Review Momentum – Easy

If a 2kg object is moving at 4m/s, what is its momentum?

Review Momentum – Difficult

If a 2kg object has a momentum of 10kg*m/s, what is its velocity?

Review Momentum – Difficult

If an object has a momentum of 15kg*m/s and is moving at 3m/s, what is its mass?

Review Impulse – Easy

You impact a wall with a force of 2N. It takes 3s to complete the impact. What is your impulse?

Review Impulse – Difficult

You run into a wall and have an impulse of 16 kg*m/s. If you feel 4N of force, how long did it take to complete the impact?

Review Impulse – Difficult

You run into a wall and have an impulse of 16 kg*m/s. If you take 2s to complete the impact, what force do you feel?

Review Impulse-Momentum Theorem – Difficult

An airbag stops you in a collision in 2 seconds. You are 55kg heavy and you were driving at 20m/s. What is the force you will feel?

Review Momentum in an Elastic Collision –

DifficultA 12kg billiard ball rolls to the right at 1m/s and hits a 4kg billiard ball that is at rest. They bounce off without deforming. After the collision, the 12kg billiard ball continues to move to the right at 0.5m/s. What is the 4kg billiard ball’s final velocity AFTER collision?

Review Momentum in a Perfectly Inelastic

Collision – DifficultA 12kg clay ball rolls to the right at 1m/s to hit and stick to a 4kg clay ball that is at rest. What is the velocity of the combined clay ball AFTER collision?

Review Momentum in an Explosion – Difficult

A 1.5kg cannon is loaded with a 0.06kg ball (total mass is 1.56kg). The apparatus is at rest. The cannon is ignited and launches the 0.06kg ball forward at 75m/s. What is the velocity of the cart following the explosion?

Learning Log Update Based on today’s review, does this change any of

your numbers in your learning log (2/5 or 2/6)? Knowledge Targets: #1, 2, 3 Reasoning Targets: A, B, C, D

5: No Idea 6: Heard it before 7: Recall definition 8: Recall definition & simple calculations 9: Total beast

Found in notes or videos It is YOUR responsibility to do the conceptual

questions Found in notes or videos

Speech For your RG, you must give a three minute speech

Each person should speak for one minute each (assuming you have three group members)

Parts of the speech How does your rube goldberg decoration represent your topic? What are three facts about your topic? What is a possible solution to your topic? How does your final step represent your topic? Where do you see kinetic energy? Where do you see potential energy? Where do you see conversion of energy?

Class 1: 2/3 or 2/4 Topic = Power, Project = Building Class 2: 2/5 or 2/6 Topic = Review, Project = Building &

Speech Field Trip on Friday, 2/7 Class 3: 2/10 or 2/11 Topic = Review, Project = Building &
