Tobacco use also results in considerable economic costs, both for healthcare expenses incurred to treat the diseases caused by smoking and from lost productivity (Euromonitor International. 2005)

Monitor Tobacco Use and Prevention Policies.

Protect People from Tobacco Smoke.

Offer Help to Quit Tobacco Use.

Warn About The Dangers of Tobacco.

Enforce Bans on Tobacco Advertising, Promotion and Sponsorship.

Raise Taxes on Tobacco.

Egypt Law 157 year 2007• To fill in the gap in the existing legislations the same lobbying

group managed to pass the law 157→

• Started a department in the ministry of health for tobacco control

• Smoking ban in health clinics , hospitals , education clinics, universities, public , youth clubs , governmental departments.

• Health warnings should occupy 50% of both faces of the cigarette packet.

• Health warnings should be pictorial on rotation basis .

• Ban on selling cigarettes to minors.

• Increase the price of cigarettes by 10%.
