Installation of Autolab software in Windows 7Installation of Autolab software in Windows 7Installation of Autolab software in Windows 7Installation of Autolab software in Windows 7

This document describes the steps necessary for a proper installation of Nova

and/or GPES/FRA software in Windows 7. The Autolab software Nova and

GPES/FRA are only supported under Windows 7 “32-bit”. This can be

recognized in the property screen of the Computer (see paragraph 1 how to

show this screen):

The installation of the Autolab USB drivers in Windows 7 is different from

previous Windows versions. Furthermore, the standard installation of Windows 7

sets the power management to System power down after 15 min. This will lead

to loss of USB communication.

For the proper installation of GPES and FRA software, the User Account Control

(UAC) settings must be changed. Setting the Toolbar icons for Windows 7 to

“Small icons” will show the GPES/FRA windows properly.
