To retrieve the software go to www.pidfx.com Scroll to the bottom of the page where you will find “File Manager”, click then enter username: pid password: touch *all lowercase

Enter:Username: pidPassword: touch*all lowercase

Click: Login

In this order:

(1) Place a check mark in “U-Pointer Setup.zip” then hit “download” then,

(2) Place a check mark in “I-Pro 4 Setup.zip” then hit “download”

Upon completion of the software downloads, (3) icons will appear on your desktop, “U-Pointer(driver); i-Pro (annotation) and i-Pro Player (voice, video & annotation capture)”. Plug the USB powered U-Pointer into your computer. The computer will search, find and approve the device.

Double Click the U-Pointer Icon to activate the U-Pointer Driver thus allowing the process to begin.

This screen will appear during activation.

Right click on the icon located in the lower right of your task bar. This will expand the menu of useful options. Click “Start Wizard”. Note: Windows7 users will need to expand the hidden menu bar to access the U-Pointer icon.

Click “Yes”

Place a check mark in the “Default” box then click “Next”

Click “Start Alignment”.

Point the sensor towards the projected workspace. You want to be sure that, at minimum, the camera can see the desired work surface. Note 1: if there is a glare on the surface, offset the U-Pointer to either side of the projector. The worst position to have the sensor mounted is directly on top of a “non-ceiling mounted” projector. Note 2: always check the strength of the U-Pointer pen tip by gently pressing down. You should see a faint red light. Click “OK”

Use your mouse to click “Start Calibration”

Using your U-Pointer pen, click (3) points on the left, (3) points down the middle and (3) pointsdown the right side. Note: be sure not to interfere with the line of sight from the pen tip to theU-Pointer.

Double Click the Finish button with your pen on the workspace, you are done…now let’s have fun

There are (2) ways to activate i-Pro, your annotation software: Double click the icon on your desktop or…

Hold the pen down on the U-Pointer icon for a couple of seconds, a menu will appear, click “Run i-Pro”. Note: going forward, this is how you will “right click” with the pen.

To access the menu simply hold the pen down for a couple of seconds thus right clicking in thecenter of the wheel. This will access a number of standard options to include an option to amend the tool bars look and location.

The software defaults with the ability to begin annotating. Notice the adjusted placement and format of the tool bar? Also, note that we are working on the first slide being “1/1”

Simply click on the side bar to activate the menu options.

The first 8 icons are very self explanatory

Importing Image IconThis icon allows you to either set an image as a slide “background” or setan image as an “object”. This selection is ideal if you are needing tracing paper functionality.

Select the data of choice

Click Yes to set as the slide background

Click No to set as an object

Select No? Now y ou have the ability to trace an object then remove the base object thus leaving your annotations.

Window ModeThis icon allows the user to switch back and forth from desktop to annotation mode

Intelligent ModeAllows user to have both mouse & annotation functionality at the same time

Intelligent Mouse Mode:You will notice that you can access functions in mouse mode and quickly adjust to annotationmode.

Arrows allow users to efficiently move thru their notes.

Note: 2/3 in the upper righthand corner of your screen

Note Expansion allows users to continually move the slide indefinitely. If you run out of space during work simply slide the data out of your way.

Note List: In the note list window you can open wanted notes by double clicking, delete note selectively or rearrange your notes.

Magnify selected note region or enlarging entire note area from 100% to 400%. Size and position of all objects in the note varies according to magnifying ratio.

Fully integrated Video, Voice and Annotation capture given the computer has a camera and microphone. Select Audio Recording for Voice & Annotation Capture (.ist format). Select Video recording for Audio, Video & Voice Recording (.ist format). Select Screen Recording for Voice and Annotation recording (.wmv format). .ist file formats compressed 25-33% vs. .wmv formats.

Tools: this selection will allow for a strategic presentation of data

Tool Bar Position Options allows for multiple menu settings.

Configuration Option allows for custom configuration to include the ability to add your Company logo, images, etc

This is an important feature ultimately allowing users to zoom in and out, pan left and rightwhile allowing the markups to stick to scale. You simply need to bring up your document and proceed as if you were going to print the document. Select “i-Pro Virtual Printer” and this will import the into i-Pro annotation software (see next page).

You have the opportunity to rotate your document 90 degrees. Select “Import”.

To shut down I-Pro Annotation Software select “Quit i-Pro”

To shut down “U-Pointer right click with your mouse or pen, the menu will appear, select Exit
