Typing Hindi on Your Computer

(I know what you’re thinking…Just because I Made a PowerPoint dues NOT make me a nerd)

(This is the easiest way I could organize my screenshots well)

-This should take no more than ten minutes if you have Hindi support readily installed on your computer, if you don’t, it should take no more than five minutes more.

- This will allow you to have full phonetic Hindi support on your computer without having to go to sites and type it out.

- I installed this when I was 13—yes 13, so it shouldn’t be too hard.

Go to:

www.bhashaindia.com

And click >> Download

Click >> Indic IME

Click the Indic IME (v5.0)

(it’s the newest version, therefore its also the sexiest)

Sign in with your Hotmail, (You may have to click the “Sign Up Now” button) , (I didn’t have to, cuz I’m P.I.M.P)

-ok that was kinda fruity..I wont do that again…

Ok…this is pretty self-explanatory…

Again…pretty self- explanatory…

After you finish installing, go to

>Control Panel

Go to:

> Date, Time, Regional, Language Options

Click:

> Add Other Languages

OK, This part is THE most crucial,

>make sure those two boxes under “Supplemental Language Support” are checked off,

> If they are, then click “details”

>if they aren’t, check them off and click “apply”,

>this will install extra language support,

>you will need your Windows XP CD for this. Yea…I know that sucks, I needed to get mine for it too, installing it takes less than five minutes but it took me hours to find my CD…Happy Hunting!

>After installation, click “Details”

Click the “ADD” button

Select “Hindi”

You have now added “Hindi” as an input language

Make sure the Keyboard layout says “Hindi Indic IME…”

If it doesn’t, then go back to the “add” button and add Hindi, as well as choosing “…Hindi Indic IME…” as the Keyboard Layout

Apply all your settings

Click OK,

You should now be able to select “Hindi” from your Language bar in your Task bar…

And yes, I can read/write Korean, Urdu, and Arabic as well as Hindi

This little thing should pop up when you select Hindi, click the little blue and white button and select “ON”

The End…
