The Realization of a Vision…..
Turkey Brook Park’s Rich History…Historically this 270-
acre parcel of land was originally a part of the
Seward Estate.
This circa 1858 style mansion was the grandest of houses in all of Mt. Olive Township for many
years.
In the early 1900’s the Turkey Brook Property was used as a farm and supplied New York
City with produce.
In 1990, the township began the process to purchase the land and in
1996 it was purchased for $ 2.5 million.

• In 1990, the Township began the process to purchase the land and in 1996, it was purchased for $2.5 million, partially funded through a Green Acres Grant of $534,000 and the Morris County Open Space Trust in the amount of $534,000.
• The ground breaking for Phase 1 was May 5, 2001
• Turkey Brook park Grand Opening will be Saturday, July 19th , 2003,
from 4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

civic organizations and businesses an opportunity to memorialize a loved one,
friend, or just showcase your family name on a paver for the Walkway by the Saturn
Playground in Turkey Brook Park.
Each personalized paver is $100 and forms may be obtained on the Mt. Olive Township
