Time : 1:30 pm – 5:00 pm

2. Come early to setup your presentation booth! Time for booth setup & registration : 1:30 pm till 2:30 pm

Wear proper attire i.e. formal dress & bring your own extension cord

3. Ready to be evaluated! Time for assessors’ evaluation: 2:30 till 5:30 pm

TO-DO LIST INDUSTRY DAY

1. Go to FYP Website and make sure your details are correctly registered in the website Full Name, Student ID, FYP Title, Phone Number, SV

2. Ask your SV to check in his/her ECITIE to make sure your name is registered under his/her supervision

3. Check your FYP details, table number & presentation assessors

Assessors List & Table Number will be available on the FYP Notice Board (nearby INTRA Notice Board) by 13/11/2017

1. Register your attendance with FYP Committees at registration booth inside Gemilang Hall

2. Identify the location of your presentation booth based on the hall layout with FYP Committees

3. Individually, get 2 copies of Project Presentation forms from FYP Committees

Make sure you take the correct form; either Project based OR Research based

Fill up your details before 2 assessors come to evaluate you

4. Setup your booth:

Hang your poster on the board behind the table

Ready with the laptop (esp. for research based)

Display your project on the table (for project based)

5. Wait at your booth until 2 assessors are done evaluating you

Don’t be too lengthy. Present within 15 – 20 minutes only

Don’t be selfish. Distribute presentation tasks equally among teammate

Make sure your poster follows the poster formatting as available in FYP Website: Home Documents FYP Guidelines FYP Poster Format (FYP 2 and FYP Diploma)

Standard size of poster is A1 Free style of font as long as the poster

Printing of poster is claimable. So, keep the receipt for claim purpose

We will reward Top 3 FYP Projects based on the overall performance of the students (accumulate from Presentation, Progress Report & Final Report marks)

The prizes are:

1st place: RM300

2nd place: RM200

3rd place: RM100

Certificate of the awards will be provided for you (FYP Committees will contact you to reward the prizes and certificate)

Fail to attend the project presentation without valid reason will lead to F grade (as stated in the FYP Handbook clause: 3.3.7)

Keep all receipts used during your FYP projects for claim purposes

For Diploma students: RM300 per person

1. Submit a complete hardcover final report to your supervisor & library before 5 pm on 22/12/2017

Make sure the hardcover final report follows the standard UniKL formatting (template is available in FYP website)

2. Make sure you fulfill the assessment criteria as stated in Final Report Assessment Form

Please Take This Seriously!

Make sure all chapters in your FYP Final Report are within the allowable percentage of Plagiarism i.e.

Less than 20% for each chapter

1. Submit 2 copies of hardcover final report before 22/12/2017

1 copy to the library

1 copy to your supervisor

2. For FYP Diploma students, if you and your partner are from different DET programs:

To be submitted to the library, make an individual copy of final report hardcover (with individual name & respective DET program)

3. Make sure the project title in FYP Website is correctly registered

Library staffs will reject your final report hardcover if the title is not the same as in the website.

If the title need to be changed after Industry Day, fill up “Change of Title” form and submit to Miss Marhainie at Research & Innovation office before the final report hardcover is produced

4. Late submission of Final Report Hardcover to the library will caused Final Report mark reduced by 30% (Clause 3.3.9)

Library staffs will take the names who submitted later than 22/12/2017

For semester Jan 2017, 6 out of 89 FYP Diploma students were penalized due to late submission.

5. Failure to submit the Final Report Hardcover to supervisor & library will cause F grade for your FYP course (Clause 3.5.2)

6. Before submit to library, complete the following:

8. Make a softcopy of the followings, burn in a CD and upload it in the FYP Website database:

Final Report (pdf format: eg. FR-studentID.pdf)

PROCESS OF FYP CLAIMS

1. Keep the purchased receipts and glue them on an A4 paper

Glue only 1 receipt on different A4 papers

Scan the receipts to avoid misplaced/damaged

2. Attach all the glued receipts with FYP Claim forms & submit to your supervisor

Surrender the project to your supervisor unless he/she wants you to keep the project.

CLAIMABLE ITEMS

1. For product based projects: Components/material/sample tools used to develop

the project PCB and etching materials (if any) Printed materials e.g. Printing Final Report Hardcover

& Poster

2. For research based projects: Software provided that the software is not available in

UniKL Printed materials e.g. Printing Final Report Hardcover

& Poster CD/Thumb drive if required by

your supervisor to assist the project completion

UNCLAIMABLE ITEMS

Travelling/meal costs to purchase materials/order things related to the project

Food or drink

Common equipment like digital multimeter

Printer and printer ink/catridge/paper

Travelling cost to gather data. In this case, you need to discuss with your supervisor for transportation
