refrigeration dryer is the Smart Pack

heat exchanger (patent pending). This

highly-compact, all-in-one, aluminum

module contains 4 treatment stages in

one single unit:

1. Air-to-air heat-exchanger

2. Air-to-refrigerant heat exchanger

(evaporator)

3. Maintenance-free demister

separator

4. Large drainage chamber (sump)

How does the refrigeration dryer work?

* The Pole Star Smart refrigeration dryer series incorporates a “direct-

expansion type” refrigeration system, thereby avoiding the higher full-load

power consumption of other “indirect” con - figurations (i.e. thermal mass).

* Pole Star Smart PST075 and PST095 dryers run continuously; a hot-gas by-

pass valve controls and regulates the refrigerating circuit.

* The Pole Star Smart PST120 to PST1800 models have cleverly devised energy-

saving features (Smart Save, patent pending), by means of which the dryer is

controlled in the on/off mode, according to the system requirements.

* The evaporator, the compressor, the condenser and the expansion device are

the four main components of the refrigeration dryer.

* These components are connected to each other by means of high quality

copper pipe, through which the refrigerant flows in a closed circuit.

Ateliers François s.a. –

AF Compressors

Ateliers Francois was founded in 1870 as a private family

owned business, for supplying compressed air compressors

for the general and mining industry.

After 1950 when Ateliers François SA was formed, a range of

oil free reciprocating compressors with PTFE piston rings was

developed and successfully used in the brewing, chemical

and food industries.

At present more than 4000 units are now in operation in 135

countries of the world. Current production is in the order of

200 units per year at their Belgian state of the art facility

employing over 100 people, achieving an annual turnover of

some € 25 million.
