TOP 5 TIPS TO INCREASE YOUR IPHONE

BATTERY LIFESMART TECH

WHAT’S IT ALL ABOUT?

Do you suffer the frustration of having your iPhone battery at 100% when you

leave the house in the morning but by lunchtime it has already decreased to

50%?

The agony of a dead battery can easily be avoided with these handy tips:

1. MONITOR SIGNAL STRENGTH

You might not realise it but often the biggest culprit for battery drain is a weak

signal. There isn’t really much you can do about it, except if you’re in a weak

signal area, you should consider switching your phone to Airplane mode.

Always use Wi-Fi instead of cellular data whenever possible, as that will reduce

the amount of signal the battery is looking for.

2. TURN OFF APP NOTIFICATIONS

Do you always get push notifications from certain apps and immediately dismiss

them without reading?

Go to the notification centre in settings and select any apps you don’t want to

receive notifications from. For each app, choose ‘none’ under the alert style.

3. DISPLAY SETTINGS

Having your iPhone unlocked drains your battery because you are delaying your

phone shutting down when you aren’t using it.

Go to Settings > General > Auto-lock and trial having a shorter time before the

screen auto-locks.

4. BACKGROUND REFRESHING

Swiping apps closed on your screen may make you think they have shut down

but actually many apps continue to refresh themselves when closed, especially

Facebook.

Go to Settings > General > Background App to turn it off. Apps will continue to

refresh when you load them up which is much more battery power efficient.

5. TURN OFF VIBRATIONS

If you have your sound on, you don’t need vibrations. If you have your phone on

silent, you won’t want the noise of vibrations. The movement required to make

your iPhone vibrant really drains your battery.

In Settings go to Sounds and toggle ‘Vibrate On Ring’ to ‘Off’. You can also

disable vibrations individually for texts, new emails and app notifications.
