Motivation

Stars form in GMCs, but:

• these are difficult to resolve in cosmological simulations

• have extra physics which is difficult to include

include GMCs using subgrid physics

• Stars form in GMCs (mass cloud > M_*)• Ambient & hot gas simulated with SPH
