To: my family

at Christmas

Like a dove with no bounds

I travel the world ‘round

Like a snowflake falling where the wind blows

I move here and there with never a woe

Without you, my family

These experiences I could not share

You are my perpetual Christmas gift

thank you

hardly seems fair

And a simple

I thought and I thought

About what I could do

I thought and I thought

And nothing came through

And then it clicked and I clearly knew

the best present and thanks is from the heart

And that I could do!

So here it is- although I’m sure you’ve heard better

My attempt at a short holiday letter...

I pray that you know

that wherever I go

My Colorado holiday spirit always shows.

I wish I could take a ride in Santa’s sleigh

to make it home

for Christmas day.

But since I can’t

I want you to know

That Christmas

without family is like a

Christmas with no snow.

And that despite all the going-home hype

I know at a minimum I can

count on a Christmas day Skype!

Hopefully next year

I will once more be near.

Merry Christmas to my family,

and a fulfilling New Year!
