+CFISD Technology Goals

Provide access to technology for students and teachers and media specialist

Use technology to enhance the development of language literacy learning and math skills

Enable students to create and publish documents which incorporate typed text

Enable students to interact with social studies materials using a multi sensory approach

Improve students’ ability in obtaining, analyzing and explaining information from various sources

+Truitt Strength:“Infrastructure and Technology.”

However, we consistently have problems with our district network. Internet resources are constantly in a flux between being block and accepted or the internet bandwidth is not strong enough to handle the numbers of students trying to use it at the same time. Teachers and students are left frustrated and looking for a last minute backup plan.

+Truitt Weakness:“Educator Preparation and Development.”

Teachers do not want to take the time to attend professional development that over technology applications. The about of teacher development offered through the district and even on the campus is plentiful, but teachers are unwilling to commit time off contract to better their instruction.

+In ConclusionThe STaR chart provides districts and

schools with data to determine the areas of greatest need in order to promote student achievement through technology.

Truitt Middle School has come a long way in three years, but there is much progress to be made still in order to meet the goals of Cypress Fairbanks’ Technology Plan
