Create a New Document
Insert a Graph Window
Graph a Function
Graph a Function
Input the equation for the function. In this case a parabola, but this will work with any function.
Graph a Function
After pressing Enter, you’ll see the graph of the function.
Find the Tangent
Access the Tangent line tool: Menu > Geometry > Points & Lines > Tangent.
Find the Tangent
Move the cursor over the graph of the function.
Find the Tangent
Click once on the graph to see the equation of the tangent line at that point.
Find the Tangent
Click again to place the point on the graph. You’ll see the equation of the tangent line.
Find the Tangent
Move the point to different locations along the graph. You’ll see the equation change.
