REVIEW: The 5 Themes of Geography

Vocabularycopy down the following words and definitions in your notebook:

1. Hemisphere – a half of the earth. Can also be split into four equal quarters.

2. Equator – line of latitude that divides the earth into northern and southern hemispheres.

3. Prime Meridian – line of longitude that divides the earth into eastern and western hemispheres.

4. Tropic of Cancer – line of latitude north of the equator.

5. Tropic of Capricorn – line of latitude south of the equator.

6. International date line – line of longitude east of the prime meridian where the calendar date is one day earlier than the west.

A map that shows the physical features of the earth such as rivers, mountains, deserts, etc.
