This Is How It Feels To Be Unable To Conceive A

Child

In marriage the one thing that almost every couple desires is a child of their own. The same thing applied to me when I got married to the man of my dreams. I wanted to be a mother so badly that I couldn’t really hold my joy at the thought of being pregnant and carrying a baby to term.

Three years down the line we had tried and nothing seemed to work. My peers had started families and I completely felt out. Here are some of the things that I went through.

Uncontrolled Stress No amount of activities kept my

mind off my inability to get pregnant. In spite of the help I got from my husband, thing got only worse. I strained a lot and even while trying to conceive my lack concentration was evident. I was stressed out and a thousand questions raced through my mind always.

Loss of Self Esteem With my peers my confidence

went low. I didn’t know how to handle the numerous questions that came from every direction. Actually sitting down with my fellow ladies for a cup of coffee became extremely difficult. I could make excuses just to avoid hearing the baby stories and such.

Solo Crew Solitude Then came the loud silence back in my home, whenever my

husband wasn’t around I had no one to talk to

Sometimes the distance between us and the fear of tackling the issue also became more evident that we all thought about never talking about it, until we sought help from a counselor. That’s when we decided to visit a doctor who referred us to a San Diego IVF expert. The expert carried out a number of medical tests that helped me to learn the following.

What Causes Infertility Infertility occurs to both male and females. It can be caused by genetic disorders, severe uterine anomalies, and many other causes such as the following. Benign tumors such as fibroids. Fallopian tube inflammations caused by endometriosis. Early menopause that occurs before the age of 40. Low sperm counts in males. Inability of the sperm to survive or penetrate cervical mucus. Ejaculation disorders such as male erectile dysfunction.

What Are The Solutions I also learned that there so many ideal solutions for all

these infertility disorders. They include use of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART). Meaning one can opt to use surrogate mother to get pregnant through In Vitro Fertilization and carry the pregnancy to term using Gestational Surrogacy. And they can also opt for sperm donation in case the man has the problem or embryo donation in case the woman can’t conceive but is able to carry a pregnancy to term.

The Best Fit Candidates In case you have tried getting

pregnant for over a year and is below the age of 40 you are fit. But some of the solutions I got were expensive. IVF for instance cost about $20,000 while the use of Gestational Surrogacy went as high as $80,000.

Conclusion Being unable to conceive can be quite depressing,

traumatizing, and ideally self damaging. But so many people don’t speak about it or seek the right solutions to their infertility. This ignorance can pull us down the more. Do not wait for it to be too late, infertility is irreversible.
