How every classroom

should work!

1. Every Child Has Their Own Story to Tell

2. Teachers should all be caring,

understanding, and enthusiastic

3. There should be educational lessons and life lessons in

instruction

4. Teachers have several different jobs- not just an educator

Nurse

Counselor

Police Officer

Lawyer

Mediator

5. All students have a special talent- make

their strengths shine!

6.  Every teacher has a purpose in the

classroom

7. There should be no teachers’ pets in the

classroom

9. Every student has a right to be educated

8. No student should be afraid to speak up

10. Learning should be fun!!

I interviewed several people

about their personal thoughts about

education. Here are their responses…

Question: If you could change one aspect of the classroom what would it

be?

Sheryl Ridder- 5th Grade classroom teacher at Butterfield School in Libertyville

“Longer recess times and a period everyday for teacher’s plan time. You need longer recess because the kids’ energy is still sky high, even for 5th grade”

Question: What would you add to a classroom to make learning better?

Cheryl Marsh- 3rd Grade Teacher at Adler School in Libertyville

“More technology use- I mean, we are lucky to have great technology already put in our school, like a student does the morning announcements over a T.V, but I would really like a smart board”

Question: What do you think about teacher’s

salaries?

Bonnie Taylor- Kindergarten Teacher at Oak Grove School in Green Oaks

“Awful just awful, but I bet all teachers can agree, we don’t teach for the money we teach because we love children and want to be in school for the rest of our lives (ha ha)”

Question: How do you define the “perfect

teacher”?

Barb Mudd- 5th Grade Teacher at Butterfield school in Libertyville

“The perfect teacher adores children and takes their time planning lessons, want to change the lives of the youth of America, and making a difference in a child’s life”
