OBJECTIVES
This study aimed to:
determine the catch composition and relative
abundance of species caught by hang fish trap;
determine catch-per-unit-effort of hang fish trap;and
determine the length - weight relationship of fish
caught by hang-fish trap.

CONCLUSION
Based on the study:
Sepioiteuthis lessoniana (Lolinginidae) was the
dominant speciescaught by fish traps in ASVP
The CPUE of fish traps used in the study is
lower compared to the CPUE of other gears
used in other studies
There is a positive correlation on the mantle
length and body weight ofS. lessoniana

RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of this study, the following wererecommended:
Longer monitoring (e.g. one year) of the species
composition and relative abundance of hang-fish trap;
Monitoring on the species composition and relativeabundance of hang-fish trap in different lunar phases
(New moon, first quarter, full moon, and last quarter);
Monitoring of species composition and relative
abundance of hang-fish trap with daytime and nighttimesampling; and
Slight modification on the structure of fish trap, to
compare the catching efficiency
