There are many different types of nouns. They are common nouns, collective nouns, proper nouns, abstract nouns, concrete nouns, pronouns, compound nouns, animate

nouns, inanimate nouns, singular nouns, plural nouns and countable nouns.

NOUNSEven collective nouns can be plural.

Nouns can be singular or plural.

PLURAL NOUNSNouns name people, places or things.

A plural nouns shows that there is more than one of the nouns.

singular – bus

plural –buses (more than one bus)

Some plural nouns can be made by adding ‘s’ or ‘es’

Nouns that end in consonants NOT ‘y’

Most you simply add ‘s’

Those that end in ‘s’, ‘sh’, ‘ch’ ‘z’, ‘zz’ or ‘x’Add ‘es’
