DISASTERS IN JAPAN, PHILIPPINES

AND AMERICA

The worst typhoon in the Philippines in year 2009 is Ondoy.It occurred in September 27.It came by surprise that’s why no one was ready. I chose this so that we would know how we will be safe when crisis comes again.

The latest disaster in Japan is tsunami and earthquake, And in America is a hurricane. I chose this two so that we would be alarmed what would happen next and what to do after the crisis.

JAPAN’S EARTHQUAKE & TSUNAMI

日本の地震と津波

Japan's most powerful earthquake since records began has struck the north-east coast, triggering a massive tsunami. The 8.9-magnitude tremor, which struck about 400km (250 miles) north-east of Tokyo. A

state of emergency has been declared at a nuclear power plant, where pressure has

exceeded normal levels. Japan was struck by the most powerful earthquake to hit the island nation in recorded history and the

tsunami it unleashed.

Rescue efforts began with the first light as military helicopters plucked survivors from roofs and carried them to safety. In one ward alone in Sendai, a port city in Miyagi, 200 to 300 bodies were found. The quake was the fifth-largest in the world since 1900.

AMERICA’S HURRICANE

Hurricane Irene was a large and powerful Atlantic hurricane that left extensive flood and wind damage, It developed atmospheric convection and a closed cyclonic circulation center, prompting the National Hurricane Center to initiate public advisories late on August 20, 2011.

US residents in North Carolina are considering whether to evacuate low-lying areas of Manhattan after hurricane Irene barrelled out of the Bahamas. Irene, achieved gusts of up to 128mph. The storm could hit North Carolina's Outer Banks with winds of around 115mph. Irene was the strongest storm to threaten the Atlantic coast since 2005. Hospitals began running checks on emergency generators, medicines and other supplies.

When there’s a hurricane we need to pack the ff.;
