To practice the Virtues Project…
You must believe one
thing whole heartedly.
Every person, no matter what age he or she is, has ALL of these virtues ALL of the time. (Sometimes they are present in strength and sometimes in growth.* Sometimes they may seem absent but they are not.)
The first and foremost assumption:

…to have big dreams and
then act as if they are possible...
Idealism does not mean that you are an idle dreamer.
Idle dreamers just WISH that things were better.

Correct
There are 3 occasions one can speak the language of virtues:
“That was HELPFUL of you to pick up your clothes and
put them in the laundry basket.”
“You are practicing CONSIDERATION when you think
about your brother’s suggestion.”
“I see your SELF DISCIPLINE when you choose not to

Your objective:
Strategy 1 To Acknowledge
• Be positive
• Say it when you
see it!
• Be specific
• See improvements
How can you be HELPFUL when I am out of town?”
“Remember CONSIDERATION is taking turns sitting in
the front seat of the car.”
“SELF DISCIPLINE is listening without interrupting.”
Your objective:
Strategy 1 To Guide
• To invite positive
behavior
““You need to be HELPFUL now and tell me what
happened.”
