For present purposes, think of "the subject" as an "I" that cannot be taken for granted or assumed. The relationship here is between this non-assumed I and its environment. "Subjectivity" is roughly: my sense of myself---but under question.Think: if "I" don't quite know what "I" am, then can I say with certainty what is *outside* my "self"? This is a very real question that G is also quietly asking here. We will also come to these questions later in the course.

Please ponder and pay attention to this important moment; we will return to it on Friday and the rest of the course. It's also connected to "singularity."

Compare to Hobbes (our other reading.) Guattari starts to conclude his argument here. What do you think of his closing principle: "Anything is possible"? What is his basis for this?
