The study of early Coop Himmelb(l)au, adonated piano, customized isotoner drivinggloves, $50 worth of Radio Shack electricalcomponents, 3 box fans, lots of steel, a 4' x25' Sheet of Red Silk, and a 100' FabulousDay-Glo Green Extension Cord. This was theKlavierwolke. The Klavierwolke was part of an installationshow for the KSA Baumer Seminar with WolfPrix of Coop HimmelB(L)au. It was aninvestigation into translation of one affect intoanother vis-à-vis prosthesis. The way thatthe Klavierwolke translated the act of playingthe piano to a spatial affect was through thegloves. Each finger controled a switch, whichin turn controled a fan. As one played thepiano, the fans activated accordingly to one'sfinger movements, and the Silk danced to themusic. The result of this translation was the creationof a simulacrum of sound waves in the ripplingred silk.
