HOUSING(INFORMATION!

SCHEDULE!

Sherry Turner came to the District Office in March of 1994 to s e rve a s ou r Receptionist. When I came a week later as CE Director, Sherry became the first Administrative Assistant for the CE Department. After I left, Sherry then served in that role with CE Director Terry Richardson.

In 2001 Brother Chapin asked Sherry to serve as his Administrative Assistant to the Dis t r ic t Execut ive Secretary-Treasurer. She served in that role with Brother Chapin, Brother Barker and now me.

What a blessing she has b e e n t o o u r D i s t r i c t , assisting in all the duties of administrative assistant to the Executive Secretary-Treasurer’s office including helping literally 100’s of you through the credentialing process. She mentioned to me that this is what she will miss the most, her interaction with you and each year seeing the group of those being ordained.

Sherry will be retiring this year and this will be her last year at District Council. Be sure to express your appreciation to her and wish her a happy retirement!

Thank you, Sherry, for your hard work, dedication, and being a blessing in the Kingdom!

South Texas Ministers Available to Preach

Pentecostal Evangel Moves to Online News Service

We are excited to announce the launch of PE News. The subscription-based 101-year-old print publication now is ava i lab le in on l ine and mob i le platforms. Visit PEnews.org to see the latest stories on the people and ministries of the Assemblies of God. You can also access a free download of a weekly summary of stories by clicking here. Through the decades, the Pentecostal Evangel (PE) has served as the official voice of the Fellowship, providing weekly spiritual and informational content for the constituency. Published as Word and Witness, Christian Evangel, Weekly Evangel, Pentecostal Evangel, and Today’s Pentecostal Evangel, its content has remained a staple for the AG community and a trailblazer of Christian communication.

The launch of the digital age led to the creation of AG News, an online and e-mail news service. This communication channel has provided current news on the Fel lowship to thousands of subscribers multiple times a week. Now, AG News will come together with Pentecostal Evangel for an even greater impact. As PE has entered its second century of publication, it is poised to see what may possibly be the most radical expansion in readership in its history. Now published as PE News, the official voice of the Assemblies of God will be accessible free and digitally. This allows more people to view the content more quickly than what could have ever been imagined 101 years ago. Visit PEnews.org to see daily content and subscribe to receive e-mail updates and even free downloads for your church’s bulletin.

Relate and Minister to Muslims, No Matter Your Context The Summer Institute for Islamic Studies at AGTS - June 29-July 10, 2015   Springfield, Mo.

The Summer Institute for Islamic Studies at AGTS (SIIS) equips believers with the skills and knowledge to effectively engage and minister to Muslims. Whether you’re a minister, layperson, chaplain or missionary, you’ll benefit from our Islamic Studies faculty that represents five doctorates and nearly 300 years of experience in global Muslim contexts. It was that dynamic, global perspective that made all the difference for Patrice Chinje, AGTS student from Cameroon, Central Africa: “Despite having lived, studied and worked with Muslims, I was not able to engage in any fruitful encounters UNTIL I attended the Summer Institute for Islamic Studies at AGTS.” SIIS courses are taught in a modular format at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary campus. Participants can earn undergraduate/graduate credit, a certificate or audit the courses for a 75% discount. To learn more, visit agts.edu/center_for_islamic_studies/siis.html or call 1.866.773.2226
