Dr Isaac Asimov and Robot Laws

The Three Laws of Robotics are as follows: 1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. 2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. 3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

FrankesteinFrankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, is a novel written by Mary Shelley in 1818.

The monster is created by breathing life using "electricity" into dead flesh and comes back to haunt its creator.

The Monster has been used as a metaphor for science run amok

Neural Network/Neural Schema

Artificial neural networks modeled on human brain may either be used to gain an understanding of biological neural networks, or for solving artificial intelligence problems without necessarily creating a model of a real biological system

Robots that do houseworkRoomba is an autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner sold by iRobot. Under normal operating conditions, it is able to navigate a living space and its obstacles while vacuuming the floor. The Roomba was introduced in 2002;[1] as of January 2008[update], over 2.5 million units have been sold.

Robots for ChildrenAIBO (Artificial Intelligence roBOt, homonymous with "pal" in Japanese) was one of several types of robotic pets designed and manufactured by Sony; there have been several different models since their introduction on May 11, 1999. AIBO was discontinued in 2006.

Can Robots Speak?Go to http://alice.pandorabots.com/Ask her anything, even things like who is god!

Can Robots Feel Love? When a person you know has fallen in love, it's almost as though someone new has emerged—a person who thinks in other ways, with altered goals and priorities. It's almost as though a switch had been thrown, and a different program has started to run.

Each of our major ‘emotional states’ results from turning some set of resources on and turning another set of them off. Each such selection will change how we think by changing our brain’s activities.Minsky : The Emotion Machinehttp://web.media.mit.edu/~minsky/E1/eb1.html

Can multiple robots self organize as in climax?

Wei-Min Shen of the University of Southern California's Information Sciences Institute recently reported to NASA significant progress in developing "SuperBot," identical modular units that plug into each other to create robots that can stand, crawl, wiggle and even roll. He illustrated his comments with striking video of the system in actionhttp://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/02/070222102720.htm

communication

ZigBee is a specification for a suite of high level communication

protocols using small, low-power digital radios based on the IEEE 802.15.4-2003 standard for Low-

Rate Wireless Personal Area Networks (LR-WPANs), such as

wireless light switches with lamps, electrical meters with in-home-displays, consumer electronics

equipment via short-range radio.

Robots Interbreeding with Human : Robo Sapien?

DNA nanotechnology is a branch of nanotechnology which uses the unique molecular recognition properties of DNA and other nucleic acids to create designed, controllable structures out of DNA. This has possible applications in molecular self-assembly and in DNA computing.
