"The NGO World" team visited flood affected areas of district Multan and Jhang to assess the losses, damages and destruction. During the visit and talking with flood victims we observed crops destruction, damages of homes, livelihood resources, health issues, food and WASH problems.(22-23 August 2013).

The NGO World team visited some affected areas of district Jhang and Multan for

assessment of losses

Here is pictorial presentation on observations during the visit

Countrywide heavy monsoon rains have triggered flash floodsand caused damages across Pakistan. The rains have alsocaused extensive loss of crops, property and livelihoods, andcaused damages to infrastructure. According to the NationalDisaster Management Authority (NDMA) rains have claimed 84lives, displaced 81,674 people, affected 135,076 acres of crops,and damaged or destroyed 4,315 houses.

Big population is affected

Agri Implements Destroyed

Irrigation resources damaged

Crops destroyed

Orchards damaged

Livestock under stress

Only source of clean drinking water “HANDPUMPS” damaged

My home is now heap of mud…Shelter destroyed

Rooms completely destroyed

No alternate to live in

I have also lost my books

How difficult it would be to build my home again

Where are my clothes ?

My eyes got infection

Women and children are real vulnerable

Family under severe stress…what left with us

?

How to build it again, it already took my life?

Women under mental stress?. How can she bear destruction all around

Flood has stolen his smiles

I am young but limited income sources ?
