planning bodies (RPBs)
Marine planning is a science- and information-based tool that can help advance local and regional interests, such as management challenges associated with multiple uses of the ocean, economic and energy development priorities, and conservation objectives.
Marine Planning goals:• Inter-agency coordination• Public and stakeholder participation• Build upon and complement existing efforts• Inclusiveness, transparency, and process integrity• Regional marine plan
To develop marine plans, representatives from all levels of government work together, publicly and transparently, as a regional planning body.
