Why we should desire to participate on the Holy communion?
I; first, we take of the Lord's Supper because it commemorates the death of Jesus Christ for our sins. Jesus said that we are to continue the practice "in remembrance of me" (Luke 22:19;
II; Second, we partake of the Lord's Supper in anticipation of His future coming. In Matthew 26:29
III; Third we partake the Lord supper as a proof that we are his disciples

Why we Celebrate the Lord supper?
I; it is the Lord’s command (Do this..”) II; it is a reminder that we are waiting
for his return (“in remembrance of me”) III; it is one way that we involve in
proclaiming the Lord’s death which gives us freedom from the bondage of Sin.

So, when we come to partake of the Lord's Supper, we need to examine our hearts ("But let a man
examine himself" - 1 Corinthians 11:28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.) to make sure that we are
coming for the right reason. We need to make sure that we are "discerning the Lord's body" (1
Corinthians 11:29). To discern means to separate mentally from other
things. That is, we should treat the taking of the Lord' Supper as a special event which commemorates the unique sacrifice that Jesus Christ made for us on
the cross. However, if we seriously approach the Supper and seriously consider what Christ did for us
on the cross, we are then partaking of the Lord's Supper worthily.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26

1Cor 11:23 (NIV) For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me." 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me." 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me."
25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me."
