Eternity to Creation

TheLife ofChrist

One of the basic tenets of Christianity is that Jesus Christ has existed from eternity. “Thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou

be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting” (Mic 5:2).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (Jn 1:1).

“Now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was” (Jn 17:5).

“He is before all things, and by him all things consist” (Col 1:17).

TheLife ofChrist

What does Jesus’ eternality really mean? This is an affirmation of His deity

(Deut 32:40; 33:27). This declares that He is greater than

those He came to save. This allowed Him to aid in Creation

(Jn 1:3, 10; Col 1:15-16).

From Creation to Bethlehem

TheLife ofChrist

Jesus seems to have been greatly involved in the events of the OT. He understood OT teaching better

than His contemporaries. He speaks of judgment upon

unrepentant cities. Jesus and His Father are one.

“He that hath seen me hath seen the Father” (Jn14:9).

Jn 17:20-21.

From Bethlehem to the Ascension

TheLife ofChrist

Why is this part of Jesus’ life important? Jesus’ birth at Bethlehem signaled

great humility (Phi1 2:6-8). Jesus suffered temptation (Matt 4:1;

Heb 4:14-16). Jesus taught much & healed many

(Mk 1:38; Matt 11:4-5). Jesus died for our forgiveness (Rom

5:9-11). Jesus was raised back to life in order

that we might live eternally (1 Cor 15:20-23).

From the Ascension to the JudgmentJesus ascended back to the Father after his resurrection (Acts 1:9).

TheLife ofChrist

When he ascended back to the Father, he was crowned with glory and honor (Eph 1:18-21; Heb 1:3-4). From that place of authority, Christ

aides Christians as they live in him.▪ It is he who is the High Priest who

assists us in our struggles (Heb 4:14-16).

▪ It is he who stands before the Father to make intercession for us (Heb 7:25; 1 Jn 2:1).

At the conclusion of this period, Jesus will judge the world (Acts 17:31; Rom 2:16; 2 Tim 4:1).

From Judgment to Eternity

TheLife ofChrist

Christ has maintained some of His humanity (1 Tim 2:5).

In eternity, Jesus will receive praise from His people Phil 2:10-11. The New Testaments presents Christ

has receiving much heavenly praise (Rev 5:9-14;15:1-4).

Are you praising Jesus with your life?
