Hebrews

• Written to Jewish Christians 2,000 years ago• Did you learn anything new?• What was your favorite part?

Hebrews

• God has always had a plan• He has always revealed His will– To our ancestors– To the patriarchs– To Adam and Eve– To Moses– To David– To Judges– To Prophets

Hebrews

• And now thru His Son• How do we know about the Son?– The Bible reveals Jesus

• Jesus is greater than all the others God used to reveal His will, to reveal Himself

• Jesus is the FINAL revelation here on earth– What does that mean for us?

Hebrews

• All of that means Jesus is greater than– Angels– Prophets– Moses– The tabernacle/temple– The Levitical sacrificial system– The Levitical priesthood

Hebrews

• Calls for perseverance– Hang in there– Don’t give up– Remain faithful

• For the original readers– Don’t go back

• For us– Salvation is only found in Jesus

Hebrews

• Other points– Jesus is fully God and fully human– Jesus reveals God– Jesus is the agent and sustainer of creation– Jesus is the perfect high priest– Everyone will face judgment for their sins– Faith is a requirement and faith always involves
