The Holy Scriptures come from God

The Holy Scriptures come from God

Note: Not only do the Holy Scriptures come from God, but He has given them to us in such a way that we can depend on them as being

2 Peter 1:20-21 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture

came about by the prophet's own interpretation.

For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke

from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

They are Useful for Teaching us what to believe and how to Live

They are Useful for Convincing us of wrong beliefs and wrong behavior

They are Useful for Restoring us to Right Beliefs and Right Behavior

They are Useful for Training us in Righteousness

Note: Verse 17 tells us that the Holy Scriptures are useful for the four things mentioned above in order that “the man of God,” ie: the believer in Jesus Christ who belongs to God “may be perfect,” ie: complete in the sense that he is “thoroughly furnished” or “fully equipped” for all good works
