The Golden RingThe Golden Ring is one of the oldest Russian routes. It goes to the north-east of Moscow and forms a circle. There are many interesting ancient Russian cities and towns along the way, full of history and the unique Russian architecture.

Reasons to go there

Vladimir

• is the first town of the Golden Ring;• was the capital of the Northeastern

• has provincial atmosphere and the contrast with big cities.

• was first mentioned in 862;• is a small town with old buildings, the

Kremlin, and the Russian architecture;• is the most similar town to Suzdal of

all the towns along the Golden Ring.

An old Russian provincial town, famous for: •numerous monasteries;•old churches; •the first boat built by young Peter the Great;•Pleshcheevo Lake (which gained the status of national park in 1988).
