● OCA created in 2013

OCA Mission

● Help and promote the collaborative development of Odoo

● Encourage the development of Odoo and its features while coordinating and organizing the collaborative work on the software

● Assist the community while defending its interests and the sustainability of its developments

● Promote the use of the Odoo solution

● Facilitate synergies, collaborations and fund raising efforts

● Actively collaborate on the definition of the roadmaps of new versions of the tool and their implementation.

Why OCA ?

● Increase quality of community modules

● Improve visibility of projects and modules

● Ensure long term support of modules

● Reduce similar/redundant development

● Provide a partner-independant legal entity to protect intellectual properties

● Provide a unified voice to discuss with Odoo SA

● Provide resources for OCA’s projects (infrastructure, funding, legal support)

● 9 Board Members○ 7 founder members○ 2 new board members○ Elected by charter members for 1 year at the Delegate Assembly

Midterm planning

● Provide a better quality○ Split contributions within 3 levels:

■ Commnuity levels■ Incubator for candidate modules■ OCA Module Certified (docs, PEP8, migrations insurance for the future)

○ Bring clear rules that define a OCA certified module● Improve Odoo collaboration

○ Be involved in the next release devs○ Communicate roadmap

● Better docs and processes○ Share knowledge between contributors○ Define clear processes (suggest idea, collaborate on devs, …)

● Setup project teams / leaders and provide objectives

Next year planning

● Migration of the Community work from Launchpad to Github○ Migrate projects and teams○ Provide a continuous integration server

● Operations○ Adoption of processes and rules to accept or reject projects and maintainers

● Code Sprints○ Topic to be defined

● Collaboration with Odoo on the next 9.0 version○ Finance the collaboration○ Provide reviews at early stage of developments
