Bringing together a global community of leadersCollaboration between constituencies is vital for thecreation of a sustainable global economy. Business,governments,civil societyandother stakeholdersneedtoworktogethertoachievethischange.

The 2013 Global Conference on Sustainability and Reporting will be the sustainability leadership eventof 2013. It will unite over 1500 delegates from business,finance, accountancy, consultancy, civil society, govern-ment,laborandacademia.Thesesustainabilityleaderswillconnect,shareknowledge,andcollaborate-toacceleratethetransitiontoasustainableglobaleconomy.

The G4 Guidelines: for standard practiceCompaniesandinvestorsneedinformationtoassessrisk,measureperformance,andidentifymarketopportunities.Governmentsandconsumersneedinformationtomakepolicy and purchasing decisions. A sustainable globaleconomywillbebuiltonthedisclosureofsustainabilityperformanceinformation.

To make this information useful for all, we need acommonreportinglanguage.

ThefourthgenerationofGRI’s Sustainability Reporting Guidelines – G4 – will be launched at the Conference. G4willprovidethiscommonlanguagefororganizationsaround the world, enabling sustainability reporting tobecomestandardpractice.
