The Best Presentation on Mobile Apps Used for Education

By Ryan Raddatz

Communication

• Facebook Messenger- Facebook Messenger is an instant messaging service and software application which provides text and voice communication. It could be used educationally if teacher start a group chat and have a conversation with the students about the work/project on the computer. Then students can enter their thoughts for the teacher and the other students to see which might be helpful to look back on later on.

Communication (cont.)

• Kik Messenger- Kik Messenger is an instant messaging application for mobile devices. The app is available on most iOS, Android, and Windows Phone operating systems free of charge. It can be used educational so that the teacher can talk to each student individually or in a group about certain work or projects. This would be a great mobile app to use for education because the students would get the teachers message right then and there on their mobile device and the teacher would get one right back without any reason for delay.

Communication (cont. 2)

• Skype- Skype is a video chatting and instant messaging app. It could be used by classmates talking to another classmate who needs help with homework and can see how to do it. It is easier to explain things to a person while being able to see and talk to them and just not text them. Skype could also be used by the teacher to talk to a student when the student is sick and at home and needs explaining of what to do.

Video Sharing

• YouTube- YouTube is a video-sharing website and has been owned by Google since late 2006. YouTube can be used educationally by having students watch educational videos on what ever subject. Many teachers already do this. Also teachers could make students make a video and post it for some type of educational purpose.

Video Sharing (cont.)

• Viddy- Viddy says turn your everyday moments into perfect little movies. Viddy provides wide range of video effects which you can apply to your videos and make them more beautiful. You can share these videos on any social media. This could be used educationally by having a teacher show how something is done in a video and presenting it to the students. Or even have other students make videos and have them present their ideas or information on the subject to the rest of the class via social media.

Video Sharing (cont. 2)

• Burst- Burst puts a twist on videos, as it prompts you to create groups from your contacts list for private sharing. This is a great advancement, as you can securely share video clips with the people who would be most interested. For education purposes the teacher could share videos specifically to as many students as he wants and they can see the video right then and there without having to worry about anything being accidently shared with others.

Presentation

• Prezi- Create and present beautiful presentations with Prezi, get started by choosing one of our stunning templates then add your text and images. Prezi is already used in schools all over the nation. It is used so teachers can present their lessons in fun and unique ways. But students can also present their projects in interesting and attention-grabbing ways.

Presentation (cont.)

• Keynote- Keynote is the most powerful presentation app ever designed for a mobile device. Built from the ground up it makes creating a world-class presentation — complete with animated charts and transitions — as simple as touching and tapping. It could be used educationally by the students presenting their work in an original, easy, free, and fun way.

Presentation (cont. 2)

• Flowboard- Flowboard is a storytelling and presentation app that allows anyone to make side-scrolling publications with images, text, videos, PDFs, links, and photo galleries. It would allow a teacher to send information to a student’s mobile device for them to work off of. The teacher could find information that they want to share and send it directly to the student.
