SEPTEMBER 26, 2021 PARISH NEWS
In response to a security assessment conducted by the Diocese of Venice, it has been strongly recommended that all parishes lock their auxiliary entrances once Mass begins. The only entrance that should remain unlocked during weekend Masses, and Holy Days of Obligation, would be the Main entrance. Therefore, beginning with the 4:00 Mass on Saturday, September 11, the North
and South entrances will be locked once the Opening Hymn begins. Anyone who is late must enter through the main Narthex entrance which faces the School's Bell Tower (East). Please note that the push bars on the North and South doors will still allow parishioners to exit the church in the case of an emergency.

J O S E P H WAS A MODEL OF HUMILITY
Joseph’s humility is clearly seen in the way he surrendered himself to God’s will. He didn’t question God. He saw his place in God’s plan of salvation and said “yes.”
Blessed St. Joseph, may I foster the virtue of humility by emptying my ego so that I can truly be used for the glory of God and the service of others. Amen.

THE ARCHANGELSThe Catholic Church recognizes the existence of three Archangels: Michael (“Who is like God?”), Gabriel (“God’s Power”) and Raphael (“God’s Doctor”).
The existence of angels is a truth of the Faith. Their presence in the Bible is incontrovertible testimony to this. These are incorporeal beings, who are spiritual, perfect, created by God at the dawn of time for the purpose of being his servants and messengers. Angels therefore live in the contemplation of God and act as His messengers.
Since ancient times, we have considered the fact that the angelic hosts are organized into a sort of Heavenly Court, in which the angels have different ranks and graces.
The three Archangels occupy the highest domains of this angelic hierarchy. They too have tasks similar to those of the common angels, but their duties are even higher and more important. They are the task of contemplating God, day and night, glorifying Him incessantly by preserving and protecting His mystery. Their own names suggest their roles and their nature: all end with “El”, which signifies “God.”
MICHAEL is the warrior who fights against Satan and his emissaries, the defender of those who love God, the protector of the people of God. It was Michael who led the heavenly hosts in the war leading to the expulsion of rebellious
angels from Paradise, and since then, he has continued to stand up as God’s defender against Evil and its deceits. His new battle is no longer heaven, forbidden to Satan, but the souls of us humans, constantly targeted by the flattery of Evil, and instigated at every moment to rebel against God. He is the patron saint of the Police.
GABRIEL is one of the spirits closest to God, before his heavenly throne, the one who revealed to Daniel the secrets of God’s plan, announced to Zechariah the birth of John the Baptist, and to Mary, that of Jesus. Gabriel is considered to
be the protector of those who work in communications, postmen, ambassadors, journalists and couriers.
RAPHAEL is the Archangel whose mission is to bring healing. He is among the angels closest to the throne of God. His role as a healer, as “God’s Doctor” should always be interpreted as the will to heal the soul, to relieve it from its
suffering and make it best disposed to welcome God. Raphael is considered to be the patron of young people, engaged couples, spouses, pharmacists, educators, travelers and refugees.
In general, therefore, the task of the three Archangels, in addition to contemplation of God, is to communicate His Will to man in various ways, to be an inspiration for human beings, and the catalysts of divine grace for them.

F A I T H F O R M A T I O N : R C I A Is Christ calling you or someone you know to become Catholic? Are you an adult who hasn't been confirmed?Weekly RCIA sessions have begun on Mondays at 6:30 PM in the ministry center library.
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) is the friendly, relaxed, and prayerful process that helps adults learn more about the Catholic faith, and then (if they feel called by God) to prepare for the Sacraments of Baptism, Communion, and/or Confirmation.
RCIA IS FOR:
• Non-Catholics who are interested in exploring Catholicism
• Catholic adults who missed out on First Communion and/or Confirmation
• Anyone who is spiritually searching
• Those who might be quietly wishing to receive Christ in the Eucharist
RCIA is intended to help these adults grow closer to God, to receive good answers to their questions, to prayerfully discern whether God is calling them to the Sacraments, and to prepare them for the Sacraments if they feel called.
To learn more, contact the Faith Formation office at (941) 585-0668 or faithformation@stcbc.org.
Even in the smallest of Churches, it’s sometimes difficult to remember everybody’s name. Our Church is a lot bigger and we have a lot more neighbors to meet and greet. Let’s get to know them by name and not be embarrassed when we realize we have called someone by the wrong name. How? A Name Badge is the solution. Complete the slip, bring it by the Church office Monday through Friday to order your name badge today, and give your fellow parishioners a proper welcome next time you see them.

R E S P E C T L I F EFor those that support abortion in this country, there seems to be a lot of confusion, even at the highest level.
Recently, our President stated that he didn't believe that life begins at conception. This statement contradicts an interview he gave in 2015 to a Catholic clergyman. Then, he said that life begins at conception but wouldn't force his views on others. His opposition to the recent Texas heartbeat law prompted his latest comment. If life doesn't begin at conception, and life isn't present when a person has a heartbeat, then when? Can every person simply breathe a soul into a newborn on a whim?
Dr. Leana Wen, former President of Planned
Parenthood, was replaced because she wanted to reshape PP towards public health. One area of contention was how to use her miscarriage to promote PP. Wen's use of the term "new brother or sister" was not to PP liking. It sounds like Dr. Wen thought that the fetus she was carrying was a child.
Confusion abounds!
(Babies aborted this week: Isabella, Grayson, Aria, Lucas, and Aaliyah. Please spiritually adopt one of them and keep them in your prayers.)
