The programme aims to develop a continuous flow of professional
hoteliers that will proactively meet the evolving need of talent in the
company.
The programme builds the foundation of successful professionals in the hospitality industry by offering stretching development plans, guided leadership development, in-depth operational exposure, self-directed
learning, mentoring and a rewarding placement within Rotana properties in more than 30 exciting work destinations.

TAROT’s talent acquisition and development strategy is
intrinsically linked to Rotana’s strategic priorities, ensuring that tomorrow’s workforce is fostered today. It is only by cultivating and

02. Communication and Implementation
Rotana launched TAROT in 2008 through various presentations
done to the company’s executives and supervisors. Additional
presentations were held at local and international hotel schools to
promote the programme.

03. Conception
Every quarter includes:
Scorecards / learning points related to one department
Attendance of selected off-job training programmes
Departments’ familiarization; participants can ‘create their own deck’
Development of managerial competencies Reading e-books Assignment of challenging projects Attendance of operational meetings Mentoring relationship On-job assessments Properties rotation
03. ConceptionLearning ScorecardsOn-Job learning areas related to one department and distributed on 4 quarters.
Off-Job TrainingOff-Job Training programmes that need to be attended by the participant.
Create your Own DeckOr ‘Departments Familiarization’, where participants have the opportunity to choose one department and undergo a 1 week training in this department during 2 quarters.
Competencies DevelopmentSpecific competencies are developed and reviewed throughout the programme by quarterly assessments, on-going feedback and coaching.
E-BooksA selection of e-books is provided to each participant to complement the learning experience.
ProjectsSpecial projects are allocated by the Corporate Office in every quarter, linked to the Scorecards. A ‘Project Evaluation’ takes place upon completion of each project.
Operational InvolvementAttendance of operational briefings and financial meetings.
MentoringA Mentoring relationship is established between the TAROT participant and one company executive.
AssessmentsVarious assessment tools will be used: psychometric tests, learning styles inventory, quarterly assessments, tests, demonstrations, etc.
Property RotationA 2-week property rotation takes place allowing an exposure to a different Rotana property / type of operation.
CPDPCareer and Personal Development Plan completed upon completion of 12 months of the programme.
DiplomaIssued by Rotana Corporate Office upon successful completion of the TAROT programme.

TAROT measures every aspect of the participant’s path to managerial roles, starting from the selection phase until the graduation by using multiple tools such as psychometric and competencies assessments, scorecards evaluation
and projects.
