The 5th Precept

A Time To Ponder

Buddhists observe the 5 precepts or training rules as

a code of moral conduct.

The 5 Precepts are:

•No Killing•No Stealing•No Sexual Misconduct•No Lying•No Intoxicants

Observing The Precepts is essential for one’s spiritual growth and mental peace.

The True Story that follows ( circulated in the Internet some years

ago ) makes one ponder on the dangers of breaking the 5th Precept.

In September 19, 1999, Jacqueline Saburide was a

young pretty lady at the prime

of her life.

Jacqueline was caught in the burning car and her body was heavily burnt in

just around 45 seconds.

After the accident Jacqueline needed over 40 operations.

probably has to live with the suffering mental trauma for the rest of his life.
