you should start getting used to today:

1. hybrid cloud transformation is tough, messy and entirely necessary.

Nearly three quarters of organizations are using hybrid cloud (according to RightScale)

– even though their definitions vary, and roadblocks can slow deployment strategies.

Despite any setbacks, it’s critical for every organization to pursue

hybrid cloud – and prioritize accessing data, no matter where it lives,

to ensure a successful transition.

2. “hybrid cloud” transformation now automatically means “multicloud.”

No organization wants to get locked into one vendor or provider – or have one company

own its data. This applies to the public cloud space as much as any other IT function.

Although Amazon Web Services is the most prominent cloud services provider, companies are setting an industry standard of simultaneously

working with Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM SoftLayer and others.

3. containers will become mainstream for enterprise application deployment.

It won’t be long before containers become standard for IT infrastructure – including private and public cloud environments.

This change will result from enterprises validating container

technology – and looking to deliver enterprise-class services with them.

4. to make hybrid cloud happen, devOps and It teams need to learn a common language.

Traditionally, the DevOps world is focused on open-source-led solutions, and DevOps and enterprise IT teams

often operate on different wavelengths.

To make hybrid cloud initiatives produce serious ROI, however, IT and DevOps will

need to form a critical partnership.

5. Iot and machine data growth will raise new issues – including questions

about security and data access.

Companies are already struggling to manage machine data growth.

However, security threats created by IoT-connected devices will drive organizations to rely less on internet

connectivity – and instead, turn to options like private networks.

These changes will arrive quickly. To ensure you’re ready to adapt, start

working with a partner or service provider who can handle the fast pace.
