AND IT’S LOUD.
FORT WAYNE IS RISING.
It’s the sound of progress, and you can hear it around every corner. Dining and living options abound. Sporting events send cheers through the night. And new buildings rise.
But it’s music that fills our streets and invigorates our souls.
Destination music festivals have captured (and defined) the character of communities and cities across the country and around the world.
Now, it’s our turn.
Introducing an eclectic music festival driven by the grit and power of three rivers, where rock ‘n’ roll, hip-hop, electronic and Americana don’t just coexist, but converge, high-five and take a selfie.
We’re here to drop jaws and blow up silos.
Rivers are rising. Energy is rising. Volume is rising.
THIS IS MIDDLE WAVES.
MOMENTUM HAS A SOUNDTRACK,AND IT’S LOUD.

SIDEWALK CHALK
THE FLAMING LIPSPsychedelic RockOklahoma City, OK
Saturday, 9:00PM, St. Marys Stage
Three-time Grammy winners, The Flaming Lips are the quintessential music festival band—having headlined Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Coachella, Glastonbury and more. The band’s acclaimed live show is a brilliant sonic and visual masterpiece that’s sure to delight both fans who can sing along to every melody and first-time listeners alike.
CAVEOFSWORDSDream PopSt. Louis, MO
Saturday, 4:00PM, Maumee Stage
Dreamy and atmospheric, St. Louis’ CaveofswordS delivers a sonic palette that blends synth, guitar, electronic drums and the unmistakable voice of vocalist Sunyatta McDermott.
JEFF THE BROTHERHOODGarage RockNashville, TN
Saturday, 3:15PM, St. Marys Stage
Brothers Jake and Jamin Orrall have worked with the likes of Dan Auerbach and Jack White on their awesome studio recordings, but the live show is simply them—a power-punk duo with its fuzzy, fun, melodic and raucous pedal to the metal.
TANLINESElectronic/DanceBrooklyn, NY
Saturday, 7:00PM, St. Marys Stage
Your new favorite band. Charming and fun, with hooks for miles, Matador Records recording artists Tanlines routinely steal the show at festivals around the world. If you’re asking, we’re dancin’.
BEST COASTRock/PopLos Angeles, CA
Friday, 9:45PM, St. Marys Stage
Consisting of songwriter, guitarist and singer Betheny Consentino and multi-instrumentalist Bobb Bruno (and touring musicians), Best Coast was described by The Guardian as “a lo-fi 60s garage rock and surfing band fronted by a girl group singer.” Well, something like that, but so much more; Consentino is one of strongest voices in contemporary music, on and off the stage.
DOOMTREEHip-HopMinneapolis, MN
Saturday, 5:00PM, St. Marys Stage
Doomtree are a seven-member indie hip-hop collective and record label based in Minneapolis. With influences that range from jazz to blues, punk to soul, Doomtree spin a unique sound that is multi-layered and thought-provoking.
ODDISEEHip-HopWashington, DC
Saturday, 8:15PM, Maumee Stage
Producer and rapper Oddisee will bring his lyrical and musical dexterity on the Maumee Stage; his ideas and beats know no limitations nor bounds, and often call back to hip-hop’s 80s era while delivering a decidedly contemporary and mind-expanding message.
BULLYGarage RockNashville, TN
Friday, 8:00PM, Maumee Stage
Founded by Alicia Bognanno, Bully rocks, rolls and repeats with songs that demand to be played loudly and outside, with a grit and abandon that echoes the work of Steve Albini, who Bognanno interned for. “Sweet and fizz, barbed and aggressive…sublime.” –NPR (Plus, Bully’s drummer is named Stewart Copeland.)
THE IKE REILLY ASSASSINATIONRockLibertyville, IL
Friday, 5:45PM, St. Marys Stage
It’d be a heck of a thing if the first band on the main stage leaves the main stage in rubble. But not unlikely. “Modern and ancient, punk and pub, heart-breaking and knife-wielding, Ike Reilly plays for keeps.” – David Carr, New York Times.
SIDEWALK CHALKHip-HopChicago, IL
Friday, 7:45PM, St. Marys Stage
Bringing its magnetic hip-hop meets jazz-soul-funk approach to the St. Marys stage, Chicago ensemble Sidewalk Chalk delivers all the sounds, with an MC, jazz vocalist, horns, live band and dancing galore.
THE LINEUP:
Introducing the dream team—a finely curated roster of performers that cover the map, genre-wise and geographically. Something for everyone? We say, everything for everyone. Jump in—

MIDDLE WAVES
We say “destination music festival” because “destination music and art and culture and food and drink and ridiculously awesome experiences festival” takes up too much space on the poster. But really, it’s about more than music. To that end, we’re so excited to also present:
Middle Waves is a not-for-profit music festival that would not exist without the support of its
sponsors and volunteers.

GRATITUDE.
The first planning meetings for Middle Waves took place more than 18 months ago. Since then, hundreds of people have put their time, heart and, often, soul into making this event a reality. Fortunately, we already made the memories of a lifetime. To the volunteers this weekend, and to the committee members over the last year+, we thank you, forever.
