Rater Standards

A guide approved by SME’s

Blow Drying Service(All tasks must be performed in the order listed)

Procedure Criteria:

1. Blow dries hair safely Ineffective: Does not dry hair safelyIneffective: Does not use a comb/brushIneffective: Blow dryer is held to close to the scalpIneffective: Hair is not dry

Rater Standards are used to

score practical examinations.

Each Rater must use these

standards at all times during

the scoring procedures.

The Rater Standards ensure

that the personal

interpretation or any biases

are removed from the Rater.

The Rater Standards are a

guide for what constitutes a

yes or a no. If the “NO” they

see is not listed in the Rater

Standards as a NO, then the

Rater must score as a “YES”

for the task line.

Rater Reliability Report

PSI monitors the Raters using a

Rater Reliability Report. This report

is used for discussion on a

mandatory monthly conference

call with the Lead Exam

Coordinator. During this call, task lines are discussed for any

questions that may need

clarification. The call provides us

an opportunity to ensure all Raters

are hearing the same information

at the same time to ensure all

understand the message that is

being conveyed.
