MISSION

The Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System is the quality assurance mechanism for the mandatory registration of technical-vocational programs / courses with TESDA.

Registration signifies compliance of the TVET program / course with minimum requirements promulgated for the program / course.

STATUS OF TRAINING REGULATIONS (TRs) DEVELOPED:

223TRs ON THE FOLLOWING SECTORS: • Agri-Fisheries• Automotive Sectors• Construction Sector• Electronics• Garments• Health Social and Other Community

Development Services• High Ventillation and Air-con• ICT Sector• Maritime Sector• Metals and Engineering• Process Foods• Tourism• Utilities

Out of 223 TRs ONLY TWO (2) in Construction Sector were developed on CARPENTRY .These are:

• Carpentry NC II• Carpentry NC III

……More focused on wood carpentry

Recommendation:

• Inputs gathered in this workshop relative to bamboo development relating to skills training could served as inputs towards development of Training Regulations which is normally being done at the TESDA Central Office.

• One of the pillars of a Quality Assured Philippine TVET System is the National Competency Assessment and Certification. Competency standards drawn from consultations with the industry are covered to Training Regulations (TR) promulgated by the TESDA Board.

• These TRs serve as bases in the development of curricula and assessment tools.

• The assessment tools and instruments are used by accredited assessment centers nationwide.

TARGET BENEFICIARIES:

Kasanayan Sa Hanapbuhay (KaSH)

Dual Training Program (DTS)

Objective:

Provide financial assistance to poor but deserving high school graduates pursuing TVET courses.

Qualifications of beneficiaries:

• 18 yrs of age at the time of finishing the course

• At least high school graduate

• Has taken the NCAE or undergo the YP4SC; and

• Not more that P120,000 annual family income

1. To produce a pool of qualified and globally competent workforce who are JOB READY.

2. To develop skills and competencies of the unemployed and the underemployed through training programs for pre-employment , skills upgrading and productivity enhancement.

3. To empower public and private Tek-Bok Providers (TBPs) in expanding their absorptive capacities and to enable them to offer programs for various qualifications including higher levels of technology where jobs are available in the labor market.

• The TESDA Blue Desk Project is aimed at positioning TVET as enabler of people to get a job.

• Under this program, technical vocational training providers (both formal and non-formal), assisted by TESDA and other NGAs, maintain relationships with a number of enterprises that offer employment, internships or apprenticeships.

Objectives:

1.Develop individual profiling of the aptitudes and occupational preferences of fourth year high school students and OSYs;

2.Provide career guidance and counseling based on the assessment results;

3.Develop a database on the students’ group profile against regional labor market sectoral needs; and

4.Provide a guide to the students on their future career options through-up-to-date labor market intelligence
